| We are happy to introduce the new Trappist-1 Orrery. In the constellation Aquarius, a mere 40.7 light years from Earth, resides an exo-planetary system with seven known planets. The ultra-cool Trappist 1 dwarf star was discovered in 2000 and its 7 planets spied by 2016/17. Their orbital periods range approximately from 1.5 to 19 days. They are in orbital resonance periodicity and their ordered names -- inauspiciously thus far -- are B, C, D, E, F, G and H. -- D, E, F, and G are, by various parameters, located in the surmised habitable zone of the star; they may be encircled by atmospheres (there is no evidence as yet). The possibilities remain tantalizing. We await images already scheduled in the busy James Webb duty cycle. It promises to be quite an event. Our Trappist 1 Orrery correctly depicts the 7 relative orbital periods based on NASA data and are here represented by various semi-precious stones. The dwarf star itself is represented by a beautiful red glass sphere resting in a lovely brass cradle. The gear work is the unique creation of our engineer artisans; its presentation is our in-house design as well. The model is motorized (battery powered) and the entire Trappist-1 Orrery sits atop a solid oak or walnut base. Assembly takes merely a few minutes. This Orrery is a stunning example of a close celestial neighbor--largely unheralded outside of the class of very devoted astronomical enthusiasts. Soon, however, the growing James Webb telescope catalog will catapult this new "star" into the prominence and fame it deserves. We are currently 5-6 weeks out to ship from our Colorado workshop. Brass and hardwood require only minor dusting with no hard abrasives. Brass will naturally tarnish. If you wish to maintain a bright brass look, use 000 steel wool to polish the armillary sphere, calendar ring and planet arms.
